The OPM has scheduled the Federal Benefits Open Season for Monday, November 9th through Monday, December 14th despite COVID-19. While this may be a uniquely challenging Open Season due to impacted in-person benefit fairs, agencies have been encouraged to find other ways of providing information to employees.
During this period, federal employees have the opportunity to enroll, change plans or options, change enrollment type, or cancel enrollment for the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program and the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) as well as enroll/re-enroll in the Federal Flexible Spending Account (FSAFEDS) Program. One new change for federal employees to be aware of is the additional 10 new plan options available under the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program. These programs were last expanded back in 2013, giving federal employees an opportunity to find better-suited plans for you and your family.
